PerthCam is positioned high up on the BankWest Tower building which is in the heart of Perth's central business district.

You see a south westerly view that takes in the Swan river, the Narrows bridge and to the right Kings Park.

The below image was taken from south of Kings Park looking back at PerthCam.

The Bankwest Tower is the tall tower to the right, and is located in the centre of the Perth business district.

The image is taken automatically using a Kodac DC-210 digital camera from the 46th floor on the Bankwest Tower at 108 St Georges Terrace. It is then annotated with the current time and weather information, and then transmitted back as a JPEG file to iiNet's main offices. The image is stored on the web site ready to be viewed.

The images are updated every few minutes - once the processing of an image is complete, the process restarts for the next image.
